140 results about "Digital Visual Interface" patented technology

Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface developed by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG). The digital interface is used to connect a video source, such as a video display controller, to a display device, such as a computer monitor. It was developed with the intention of creating an industry standard for the transfer of digital video content.

Method and apparatus for wireless image transmission to a projector

A method and apparatus is provided in which a digital image is transmitted to a presentation projector resource over a wireless transmission medium using a reduced amount of transmission bandwidth by transmitting a subset of the digital image data. The subset image data may be a delta subset that represents those areas of the image that have changed since the previous transmission. The subset image data may also be a scalable vector graphics representation of the subset of the digital image. Header data is provided to further describe the subset image data. A projector discovery logic selects a suitable projector resource based on the order or signal strength of the discovery replies. A wireless image transmission session is established with the selected projector resource during which the projector is unavailable to other devices. The subset image data may be compressed and transmission coordinated with the projector resource so that the data is sent only when it is ready to be received. A wireless to digital visual interface (DVI) graphics engine decompresses and renders the image for output to a DVI connector receptacle. The rendered image is projected by the projector resource in accordance with the associated header data so that the exact image that appears on the image generation device also appears on the projected display.

Transmission control protocol and method for sharing channel by paths of real-time multimedia streams

The invention discloses a communication control protocol and a method for simultaneously transmitting a plurality of paths of real-time multimedia data streams by utilizing an identical high speed digital channel. Conventional transmission channels such as signal wires for composite video broadcast signals (CVBS), S-Video, serial digital interfaces (SDI), video graphics arrays, digital visual interfaces and the like all adopt the method for transmitting images in a point-by-point scanning way under the control of horizontal synchronization and field synchronization. In the communication control protocol and the method, a transmitter acquires mode control parameters such as the information of point frequency, horizontal synchronization, field synchronization, voice sampling frequency and the like required by real-time image and real-time voice playback, packages the mode control parameters into a control information packet, packages image data and voice data into an image data packet and a voice data packet respectively, adds media stream identifiers to the three data packets, and transmits the data packets to a receiver by the same digital channel. The receiver can recover the plurality of paths of real-time media streams from the three data packets according to an original mode or a new given mode, thereby realizing the simultaneous transmission of a plurality of paths of real-time images or real-time voices in the same digital transmission channel.
