The method comprises that A) a video picture frame to be played is pre-read; B) positions of characters in a picture of the frame and content of the characters are identified; and C) when the video picture frame is played, the identified characters are displayed in an operable manner in the transparent format by being overlapped in corresponding positions of the characters in the frame picture. Correspondingly, the invention provides an interactive operation system for characters in the video. The video picture is analyzed, characters in the video picture are identified, and the identified characters are overlapped in corresponding character positions in the video picture in the transparent manner; and thus, a user can interact with the identified characters to realize interactive operation for the corresponding characters.
