Abstract

The invention discloses an online broadcast based virtual gift giving method and a device. The method includes: in a process of playing video streaming through a broadcast interface of a client, sending a virtual article giving instruction to a server when the client gives virtual articles to other clients in a same broadcast channel; responding to a payment instruction sent by the server through the broadcast interface, and outputting an access of a payment channel on the broadcast interface of the client; responding to a transaction instruction through the broadcast interface to finish payment, wherein the transaction instruction is generated according to the access of the payment channel determined by a user; determining whether to give the virtual articles to other clients or not according to transaction processing results. By the online broadcast based virtual gift giving method and the device, payment efficiency can be improved, broadcast videos can be watched during payment and gift giving, and accordingly missing of wonderful broadcast plots is avoided, and convenience is brought to the user.
