The method comprises the steps of (1) generating an initial layout which has an obvious cluster structure and can reflect structure information of a graph by using an improved force-directed algorithm, (2) generating a hierarchical structure of the graph by using a hierarchical clustering method from bottom to top based on a layout result, and (3) carrying out visual abstraction at different levels according to the generated hierarchical structure.
