Embodiment Construction

[0057]Aspects of the disclosure include sample analysis methods and systems. According to certain embodiments, methods of analyzing a sample in an automated sample analysis system are provided. The method involves introducing a sample and a sample preparation cartridge into the system, isolating and purifying analytes (e.g., nucleic acids and / or proteins) present in the sample at the sample preparation station, and performing analyte detection in an assay mixture comprising the purified analyte Determination. Also provided is an automated sample analysis system that can be used, for example, to perform the methods of the present disclosure. In certain aspects, the methods and systems provide continuous operator access during replenishment or removal of one or any combination of samples, bulk fluids, reagents, items, waste, etc.

[0058] Before the present systems and methods are described in greater detail, it is to be understood that this disclosure is not limited to partic...

Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure include sample analysis methods and systems. According to certain embodiments, provided are methods of analyzing samples in an automated sample analysis system. The methods include introducing samples and sample preparation cartridges into the system, isolating and purifying an analyte (e.g., nucleic acids and / or proteins) present in the samples at a sample preparation station, and performing analyte detection assays in assay mixtures that include the purified analyte. Also provided are automated sample analysis systems that find use, e.g., in performing the methods of the present disclosure. In certain aspects, the methods and systems provide for continuous operator access during replenishment or removal of one or any combination of samples, bulk fluids, reagents, commodities, waste, and / or the like.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Patent Application 62 / 308,617, filed March 15, 2016, and US Provisional Patent Application 62 / 357,772, filed July 1, 2016, which are hereby incorporated by reference in their entireties. Background technique [0003] Molecular analysis is changing the way healthcare professionals detect and diagnose diseases and conditions. A selection of key technologies, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and next-generation sequencing, can help transform the ability to analyze patient samples. As these technological advances are incorporated into routine diagnostic tests, classification systems may be affected and treatment approaches will change. [0004] Real-time PCR analysis improves the way clinical laboratories quantify and diagnose medical conditions and diseases, including cancer, microbial infections, and more. This test method typically combines PCR chemistry wit...
