The method comprises the following steps: step one, dividing reservoir configuration units; to be specific, step a, predicting reservoir configuration interfaces; step b, classifying the reservoir configuration interfaces; and step c, combing the reservoir configuration interfaces; step two, compiling sandstone thickness contour maps in the reservoir configuration units; to be specific, step a, preparing data; and step b, carrying out sandstone thickness interpolation of seismic attribute constraint well points; and step three, generating a sandstone thickness contour map; to be specific, step b, analyzing development periods of adjacent configuration units; and step b, superposing the sand body thickness contour maps. According to the invention, with the configuration units as mapping units, the information such as the structural relation in the underground reservoir is introduced, so that the real distribution condition of the sandstone thickness can be effectively reflected; the limitation that the traditional sandstone thickness contour map can only reflectthe thicknesses between envelope surfaces of the sandstone reservoir is broken; and thus the fine reservoir quality evaluation can be effectively guided.
