Abstract

The method for quickly switching channels comprises the following steps: a live broadcast list of an IPTV live broadcast channel is acquired, and server information corresponding to the live broadcast list is generated; a server issues the cached media stream content of the corresponding live channel to a set top box in a unicast media stream form; and after receiving the unicast media stream content, the set top box starts to decodeand quickly switches to the corresponding watching channel in the live broadcast list. After the set top box receives the channel switching information of the user, the set top box requests the servercorresponding to the channel information for unicast of the media stream, and communication between the set top box and the server is successfully established.
