Abstract

The invention discloses an HDMI interface control method and display equipment. The method comprises the steps: detecting the equipment type of external equipment when detecting that the HDMI interface accesses the external equipment; and if it is detected that the device type is an audio playing device, switching the EDID of the HDMI interface to a preset version. According to the method and the device, the external audio playing equipment can accurately identify and analyze the information in the EDID, so that the audio playing equipment can play effective sound which conforms to output volume setting, and the problem of silence caused by the fact that the external audio playing equipment cannot be compatible with the high-version EDID is solved.
