Embodiment Construction

[0081] first preferred embodiment

[0082] With reference generally to the drawings and in particular to the general representation of how to proceed with the integration of TPSP services into the SP's service environment 10 of the present invention image 3 , the technical reader will understand that the resources from the TPSP indicated at reference numeral 30 can be used in accordance with the present invention through the service environment 10 present at the SP side.

[0083] This is to illustrate the basic scheme of the present invention to introduce the generic resource manager 20 (see figure 2 ), which has a general, that is, "standardizable" interface layer, which can be used to manage the provision of resources and encapsulate and manage the provision of TPSP services. The interface layer 20 of the present invention can advantageously be standardized and greatly facilitate the integration and provision of TPSP services into provider computing environments. This is...

Abstract

A method and corresponding system are provided for providing service-on-demand from a service provider (SP) via an electronic network to customers requesting the service, comprising a plurality of third-party service providers (TPSPs) for providing one or more service-on-demand (referred to as TPSP service) as a possible contribution to the service requested by said client. The method includes the steps of: a) invoking the meta-service selector (MSS) to select the best TPSP service according to a predetermined evaluation scheme with reference to a predetermined evaluation attribute and a predetermined evaluation algorithm, b) sending a query for TPSP to the TPSP A query request for the corresponding request attribute of the service, wherein the query request requires the query service attribute information to be provided that is formatted according to the interface data scheme agreed between the query SP request and the TPSP service, d) according to A predetermined rating scheme is used to evaluate the queried information from said plurality of TPSPs, e) a particular TPSP service is selected to provide it to service requesting customers of the SP via the electronic network.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of networked computer applications, and to a method and corresponding system for providing on-demand services via an electronic network from a service provider to a client requesting the service, wherein one or more third party service providers (TPSPs) are involved in One or more on-demand TPSP services are provided as a contribution to the client-requested services. Background technique [0002] An On-Demand Service - referred to herein as an ODS - or such a TPSP service may be any kind of information technology (IT) function that is contractually provided to a given TPSP user. The contract may be established explicitly or implicitly. The service is used by TPSP subscribers under certain conditions on a usage or fee-based basis. [0003] In an on-demand computing environment, providers who provide content sell on-demand services that they themselves acquire from other parties. The integration of TPSP serv...
