Abstract

The X-ray computed tomography apparatus of the present invention has a function of monitoring the concentration of a contrast agent in an ROI of a subject by a pre-scan, stopping the pre-scan according to the time when the concentration reaches a predetermined value, and starting a main scan. The main scan conditions are initially set based on the physiological phenomena of the subject measured prior to injection of the contrast medium. Whether it is necessary to reset the originally set main scan conditions is judged based on the changes in the physiological phenomena measured before the end of the pre-scan. If it is determined that the main scan condition needs to be reset, the main scan condition is reset from the initially set main scan condition to the main scan condition corresponding to the physiological phenomenon measured before the end of the pre-scan.
