Embodiment Construction

[0014] Referring to Figures 1 and 2, a home beer dispensing device, appliance or unit 10 is shown. The dispensing unit 10 is primarily intended for use in domestic kitchens, but may also be used in utility rooms, garages, home bars, caravans and the like. Although the preferred embodiment involves dispensing beer, other carbonated solutions or other alcoholic beverages can be dispensed with the device 10 as well.

[0015] The home beer dispensing device 10 has a front wall 12 and a dispensing tap 14 protruding forward of the front wall 12 . A drip tray 16 also protrudes forward of the front wall 12 and is adapted to support an open glass container 18 below the dispensing tap. The home beer dispensing device 10 also has a base 21 adapted to rest on an interior corner of the kitchen. The front wall 12 is an extension of two pivoting side walls 20 which are movable between the tube wall and the open position to allow a container or keg 22 (see dashed line in FIG. 2 ) to be inse...

Abstract

A valve assembly for filling a bag with a beverage under pressure has a valve body having a first passageway extending therethrough and a first valve seated in the first passageway for controlling the flow of beverage through the first passageway into and out of the bag. A pressure relief passageway extends through the valve body from inside the bag to within the container. A bursting disk is seated with the valve body normally closing the pressure relief passageway and is adapted to rupture permitting fluid to escape from the bag through the pressure relief passageway and into the container surrounding the bag when the pressure in the bag exceeds a predetermined pressure value.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an alcoholic beverage container having a bag inside the container and a burst disk between the bag and the container for relieving a high pressure condition. Background technique [0002] It is known to contain alcohol in bags, such as wine, in cardboard-type containers. Furthermore, it is also known to store the beer in the bag by inserting it into the keg. In the case of a beer keg, pressure is applied to the bag to dispense beer from the bag and out of the keg through the valve body assembly. Additionally, the bag is inserted into the keg container between beer filling the bag through the valve body assembly. [0003] In the step of filling the bag with beer, the beer is filled into the bag under pressure. As the bag expands, air contained within the container between the container wall and the bag escapes through another valve that opens into the container. Once the bag is full of beer, the valve closes. In som...
