[0002] This application claims priority to and the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0098633 filed in the Korean Intellectual Property Office on July 28, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field

[0003] The present disclosure relates to a refrigerant module for a vehicle. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a refrigerant module that integrally combines a plurality of valve assemblies and a heat exchanger, so that the refrigerant module is easy to assemble with a reduced number of parts and is easy to maintain. Background Art

[0004] Generally, an air conditioning system for a vehicle includes an air conditioning device that circulates a refrigerant to heat or cool the interior of the vehicle.

[0005] This air conditioning device is used to maintain a comfortable vehicle interior environment by maintaining the vehicle interior temperature at an appropriate temperature regardless of changes in the outside temperature. Such a device is configured to heat or cool the interior of the vehicle through heat exchange between a condenser and an evaporator in a process in which a refrigerant discharged by driving a compressor circulates back to the compressor through a condenser, a receiver drier, an expansion valve, and an evaporator.

[0006] In other words, when the air conditioning device is in cooling mode in summer, the high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant compressed from the compressor is condensed by the condenser. Then, the refrigerant evaporates through the evaporator after passing through the receiver dryer and the expansion valve to reduce the temperature and humidity in the vehicle.

[0007] Meanwhile, with the recent increase in attention to energy efficiency and environmental pollution issues, there is a demand for developing environmentally friendly vehicles that can substantially replace internal combustion engine vehicles. These environmentally friendly vehicles are generally classified into electric vehicles driven by fuel cells or electricity as their power source and hybrid vehicles driven by engines and batteries.

[0008] In these environmentally friendly vehicles, unlike the air conditioning system of common vehicles, electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles do not use a separate heater. The air conditioning device applied to environmentally friendly vehicles is generally called a heat pump system.

[0009] Meanwhile, in electric vehicles driven by using fuel cells as a power source, energy generated by a chemical reaction between oxygen and hydrogen is converted into electrical energy to generate driving force. In this process, since heat energy is generated by a chemical reaction within the fuel cell, it is necessary to effectively remove the generated heat to ensure the performance of the fuel cell.

[0010] In addition, in hybrid vehicles, driving force is generated by using electricity supplied from a fuel cell or a battery together with an engine driving a motor operated with a fuel such as a petroleum-based fuel. Therefore, it is necessary to effectively remove heat generated from the fuel cell, the battery, and the motor to ensure the performance of the motor.

[0011] Therefore, in a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle according to the related art, it is necessary to configure a cooling device for preventing heat generation in a motor and electric components and a battery cooling device for preventing heat generation in a battery including a fuel cell as separate sealed circuits.

[0012] Therefore, there is a disadvantage that the cooling module provided at the front of the vehicle has an increased size and weight. In addition, the layout of the connecting pipes for supplying refrigerant or coolant to each heat pump system and cooling device in the engine compartment and to the battery cooling device is complicated.

[0013] The above information disclosed in this Background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the background of the present disclosure and may contain information that does not form the prior art already known to those skilled in the art. Summary of the invention

[0050] Referring to the drawings, the refrigerant module 10 for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is easy to assemble and has a reduced number of parts, and is easy to maintain. These benefits are achieved by integrally forming or combining a plurality of valve assemblies 300 and a heat exchanger 100 .

[0051] To this end, the refrigerant module 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a heat exchanger 100, a bracket 110, a valve manifold 200, and a valve assembly 300. Figures 1 to 4 shown.

[0052] First, the heat exchanger 100 may exchange heat between a refrigerant introduced therein and a coolant as a working fluid.

[0053] The heat exchanger 100 may be configured as a plate heat exchanger in which a plurality of plates are stacked. In addition, a flow path through which a refrigerant flows and a flow path through which a coolant flows may be alternately formed inside the heat exchanger 100 .

[0054] In other words, the heat exchanger 100 may be configured as a water-cooled heat exchanger in which a refrigerant and a coolant exchange heat.

[0055] The heat exchanger 100 and the valve manifold 200 are fixed to the bracket 110. The refrigerant module 10 may be mounted on a vehicle body through the bracket 110.

[0056] In the present embodiment, the valve manifold 200 is connected to the heat exchanger 100. A refrigerant flow path 202 may be formed and provided inside the valve manifold 200 to supply the supplied refrigerant to the heat exchanger 100 or to bypass the heat exchanger.

[0057] Here, if Figures 5 to 8 As shown, the valve manifold 200 includes a first body 210 , a first mounting groove 212 , a second body 220 , a second mounting groove 222 , and a connecting portion 230 .

[0058] The first flow path 214 may be formed inside the first body 210 .

[0059] The first mounting groove 212 may communicate with the first flow path 214. The first mounting groove 212 may be formed in the first body 210 such that one valve assembly among the plurality of valve assemblies 300 is mounted in the first body.

[0060] In the present embodiment, the second flow path 224 may be formed inside the second body 220 .

[0061] The second mounting groove 222 may communicate with the second flow path 224. The second mounting groove 222 may be formed in the second body 220 so that another valve assembly of the plurality of valve assemblies 300 is mounted in the second body. In a disclosed embodiment, the refrigerant module 10 includes two such valve assemblies 300.

[0062] In addition, a third flow path 232 is formed inside the connection portion 230 .

[0063] The connection portion 230 may be disposed between the first body 210 and the second body 220 to connect the first body 210 and the second body 220 to each other.

[0064] Here, the refrigerant flow path 202 may be formed and defined by a first flow path 214 , a second flow path 224 , and a third flow path 232 that are respectively within the first body 210 , the second body 220 , and the connection portion 230 and are connected to each other.

[0065] The first body 210 , the second body 220 , and the connection portion 230 configured in this way may be integrally formed.

[0066] The valve manifold 200 may be made of plastic or steel.

[0067] The valve manifold 200 may be manufactured by a manufacturing method including injection molding or casting, depending on the material used. Thus, the first body 210, the second body 220, and the connection portion 230 may be an integral structure and integrally connected to each other.

[0068] Meanwhile, the valve manifold 200 may further include a plurality of refrigerant holes each communicating with the first mounting groove 212 or the second mounting groove 222. The refrigerant holes may be formed in the first body 210, the second body 220, or the connection portion 230 so that the refrigerant is introduced or discharged.

[0069] In the present embodiment, the plurality of refrigerant holes may include a first refrigerant hole 241 , a second refrigerant hole 242 , a third refrigerant hole 243 , a fourth refrigerant hole 244 , and a fifth refrigerant hole 245 .

[0070] The first refrigerant hole 241 may communicate with the first mounting groove 212 through the first flow path 214. The first refrigerant hole 241 may be formed in the first body 210 and disposed toward the heat exchanger 100.

[0071] Here, the first refrigerant hole 241 may be connected to the heat exchanger 100 so that the refrigerant is introduced into the heat exchanger 100 .

[0072] The second refrigerant hole 242 may communicate with the first mounting groove 212 through the first flow path 214. The second refrigerant hole 242 may be formed in the first body 210 and disposed in a direction opposite to the second body 220. Thus, the second refrigerant hole 242 may be disposed in a direction perpendicular to the first refrigerant hole 241.

[0073] In other words, the first refrigerant hole 241 may be formed along the length direction of the first body 210. In addition, the second refrigerant hole 242 may be formed along the width direction of the first body 210.

[0074] In the present embodiment, the third refrigerant hole 243 may communicate with the second mounting groove 222 through the second flow path 224. The third refrigerant hole 243 may be formed in the second body 220 and disposed perpendicular to each of the first and second refrigerant holes 241 and 242.

[0075] The fourth refrigerant hole 244 may be formed in the second body 220 and disposed to be arranged on the same straight line as the third refrigerant hole 243. The fourth refrigerant hole 244 may communicate with the second mounting groove 222 through the second flow path 224.

[0076] In other words, each of the third refrigerant hole 243 and the fourth refrigerant hole 244 may be formed and disposed along the height direction of the second body 220 .

[0077] In addition, a fifth refrigerant hole 245 may be formed in the connection portion 230 and disposed in the same direction as the third refrigerant hole 243. The fifth refrigerant hole 245 may communicate with the third flow path 232.

[0078] Here, the refrigerant supplied to the valve manifold 200 may be selectively introduced into the second refrigerant hole 242 or the fifth refrigerant hole 245 .

[0079] The refrigerant introduced into the valve manifold 200 through the second refrigerant hole 242 or the fifth refrigerant hole 245 may flow along the refrigerant flow path 202 .

[0080] Depending on the operation of the valve assembly 300 , the refrigerant flowing in the refrigerant flow path 202 may be selectively discharged from the valve manifold 200 through the first refrigerant hole 241 , the third refrigerant hole 243 , or the fourth refrigerant hole 244 .

[0081] Furthermore, these valve assemblies 300 may be mounted on the valve manifold 200 to control the flow of the refrigerant flowing in the refrigerant flow path 202 .

[0082] In the present embodiment, two valve assemblies 300 may be included, and the valve assemblies are installed in the first installation groove 212 of the first body 210 and the second installation groove 222 of the second body 220, respectively.

[0083] Here, if Fig. 9 and Fig.10 As shown, each valve assembly 300 may include an actuator 310 , a shaft 320 , a ball 330 , and a seat receiver 340 .

[0084] The actuator 310 generates a rotational power. The actuator 310 may include a connector 312 on one side thereof so that a signal line and / or a power line for the actuator 310 is connected to the actuator.

[0085] In the present embodiment, one end of the shaft 320 may be coupled to the actuator 310 to receive the rotational power transmitted from the actuator 310 .

[0086] In other words, the actuator 310 may rotate the shaft 320 in a forward or reverse direction according to a control signal transmitted thereto using power supplied thereto.

[0087] In the present embodiment, the other end of the shaft 320 is coupled to the spherical member 330. When the shaft 320 is rotated by the rotational power of the actuator 310, the spherical member 330 may rotate in the same direction as the shaft 320.

[0088] Here, the ball 330 may include an inlet passage 332 and an outlet passage 334 .

[0089] The inlet passage 332 selectively communicates with the refrigerant flow path 202. Refrigerant may be introduced into the inlet passage 332.

[0090] The outlet channel 334 communicates with the inlet channel 332. The refrigerant introduced into the inlet channel 332 may be discharged through the outlet channel 334.

[0091] In other words, the refrigerant introduced into the valve manifold 200 through the second refrigerant hole 242 or the fifth refrigerant hole 245 via the inlet channel 332 is discharged through the outlet channel 334 .

[0092] More specifically, when the spherical member 330 rotates in a forward or reverse direction by operation of the actuator 310 , the refrigerant may be discharged through one or more of the first refrigerant hole 241 , the third refrigerant hole 243 , and the fourth refrigerant hole 244 through the outlet channel 334 .

[0093] In addition, the seat receiving portion 340 rotatably receives the spherical member 330. The seat receiving portion 340 may be coupled to the actuator 310.

[0094] Here, the seat receiving portion 340 may be formed and disposed to have a diameter gradually decreasing from the actuator 310 toward the valve manifold 200 .

[0095] Therefore, when the valve assembly 300 is mounted in the first mounting groove 212 or the second mounting groove 222 , the seat accommodating portion 340 may be smoothly inserted into the first mounting groove 212 or the second mounting groove 222 .

[0096] Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, a sealing member may be provided between the valve manifold 200 and the valve assembly 300 .

[0097] The sealing member 400 can prevent the refrigerant from leaking between the valve manifold 200 and the valve assembly 300 .

[0098] Therefore, if the refrigerant module 10 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure as described above is applied, the plurality of valve assemblies 300 are integrally formed or combined with the heat exchanger 100 by using the valve manifold 200, whereby the refrigerant module 10 is easy to assemble with a reduced number of parts and easy to maintain.

[0099] Furthermore, according to the present disclosure, by installing a plurality of valve assemblies 300 using the valve manifold 200 mounted on the heat exchanger 100 and including the refrigerant flow path 202 therein, leakage of refrigerant can be prevented while minimizing the sealing member 400, thereby improving overall marketability.

[0100] Furthermore, according to the present disclosure, since the refrigerant flow path 202 formed in the valve manifold 200 is not sharply bent, channel resistance may be reduced and the use of connection pipes may be minimized.

[0101] Furthermore, according to the present disclosure, by promoting simplification and modularization of components, manufacturing costs can be reduced and weight can be reduced, and space utilization can be improved (ie, reduced).

[0102] As described above, although the present disclosure has been described with reference to limited exemplary embodiments and drawings, it should be understood that the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Various changes and modifications may be made by those skilled in the art within the technical spirit of the present disclosure equivalent to the scope of the appended claims.
