Child-resistant packaging or CR packaging is special packaging used to reduce the risk of children ingesting hazardous materials. This is often accomplished by the use of a special safety cap. It is required by regulation for prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, Nicotine Containing Electronic Cigarette devices or Refill containers that can contain Nicotine EUTPD 36.7 pesticides, and household chemicals. In some jurisdictions, unit packaging such as blister packs is also regulated for child safety.

Child-resistant blister package

An improved child-resistant blister package is provided in which the lidding component includes a tear-resistant nonwoven layer and a barrier layer. The nonwoven layer can be a melt-spun continuous filament nonwoven web or a flash spun plexifilamentary sheet. The lidding component used in peel off-push through blister packages of the invention contains fewer layers and has improved puncture resistance compared to lidding components used in child-resistant packages known in the art. In addition, in peel off-push through and peel-open package designs of the present invention, the lidding peels more cleanly from the blister component compared to packages known in the art which have a tendency to tear during peeling.

Child-Resistant Packaging System and Method for Making Same

A medication dosage unit packaging system includes a tray for holding a blister containing a plurality of unit chambers. The blister is divided into a general access zone containing at least one general access unit chamber and a restricted access zone containing at least one restricted access unit chamber. The general access zone and the restricted access zone are separated by a chamber-free zone. A retaining cap holds the blister package in the tray. The retaining cap and the tray have therebetween a guide post fitting into a guide slot in the chamber-free zone in the blister. The guide post and the guide slot are positioned in the tray such that when a blister package is held in the tray by the retaining cap, the blister is slidable between a first position in which only the general access zone of the blister is accessible, and a second position which both the general access zone and the limited access zone of the blister are accessible. A child-resistant hinging cap is hingeably mounted into the tray, such that when the hinging cap is in a closed position, it locks the blister package in its first position, and when the hinging cap is in an opened position, it allows the blister package to be slid into its second position.

Packaged-product system with multi-operational access control

The present invention relates to a child safe packaged-product system with multi-operational access control. The invention further relates to packaged-product system that facilitates interaction with the user so as to render child safe state of the package after use. The synergistic operational combination of the said package holding provision, package fixing provision, an assembly of the package and package fixing provision operably connected by the said restrictive means results in a multi-operational access control to access the package after the completion of the child resistant activity obviating the problem of package access as a part of the child resistant activity. Further provision of the said means to remind / alert user of reengaging / repositioning the package in the child-safe state after use renders child resistant state to the package after use enhancing the effectiveness of the child resistant function of the package.

Child resistant packaging

Child resistant packaging for storing medicine or medicinal compositions that frustrates or prevents a child's attempts to access the contents while permitting an adult to easily open the packaging through a series of movements or steps in coordination or combination to readily access the contents. The child resistant packaging includes a housing component and an insert component that is configured to slideably interact with an interior space of the housing component between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration.

Heavy calendered multiple component sheets and multi-layer laminates and packages therefrom

A heavily calendered multiple component sheet is provided by calendering a multiple component nonwoven web formed from multiple component spunbond filaments under conditions that cause the lower-melting component to melt and flow into the interstitial spaces between the spunbond filaments. The calendered sheets are useful in child resistant packaging.

Reclosable child resistant package

Disclosed is a reclosable child resistant package having a front panel and a back panel that are connected together at their bottom, left, and right sides. The tops of these panels have closing means preferably consisting of a projection extending from the interior surface, near the top, of the front panel and a cooperating depression in the interior surface, near the top, of the back panel. The package is closed by squeezing the tops of the two panels together, forcing the projection into the cooperating depression. Part of the child resistant feature requires that there is insufficient material above said closing means to grasp for opening the package. The package is opened by moving the front panel with respect to the back panel, as indicated. This movement causes the panels to flex removing a portion of the projection from the depression. This causes the tops of the panels to separate a sufficient amount so as to allow one to grasp the tops of the panels to pull them apart, to fully open the package. The required movement of the panels with respect to each other for package opening is the main child resistant feature. This feature is enhanced by requiring that the package be gripped in a specific location when moving these panels.

Childproof Package

A childproof package includes a package housing, two guide recesses, which are formed in an area of an inside surface of the package housing, and a sliding element for a package content. The sliding element has two projections on its top or bottom surface, which are guided in the guide recesses. Further, the childproof package has a spring element arranged between the package housing and the sliding element. The projections can be latched by the elastic force of the spring element in notches, which extend from the guide recesses and branch off from it, and can be released against the elastic force of the spring element so that the projections are returned to the guide recesses.
