The method comprises the steps as follows: when a client end device detects that the signal intensity of a current access point is lower than a predetermined scan threshold, the client end device scans adjacent AP; when the client end device detects the adjacent AP the signal intensity of which is larger than or equal to the predetermined back-up AP threshold, the adjacent AP is added to a back-up AP list; and when a predetermined switching condition is satisfied, the client end device is switched to the adjacent AP in the back-up AP list from the current AP. In the invention, when moving, a wireless terminal device can start scan in time to acquire information of the adjacent AP according to parameters indicated by a network side AP, adjusts switching algorithm according to the parameters indicated by the network side AP to select the adjacent AP to carry out switching, and then is switched to a proper AP in real time when fast moving in a WLAN overlay area and obtains satisfied access service and communication effects.
