The invention provides a method and system for reducing time delay of switching channels of network TV, the method comprises that a network TV system plans a multicast association mode; after receives packet of a request access multicast group from a terminal, the network TV system adjudges the other multicast group associated with the request access multicast group according to the multicast association mode, enables the terminal to join the requested access multicast group and the other multicast group associated therewith, provides normal multicast flow of the multicast group of which the terminal requests to access, does not provide or provides low-clear multicast flow of the other multicast group associated with the request access multicast group; when the terminal switches channels,the network TV system adjudges that the terminal has joined into the multicast group of the channel requested to access, then provides normal multicast flow of the multicast group of the channel requested to access for the terminal.
