Abstract

The invention provides a programmable device and a booting method. The programmable device comprises a memory for storage of an encrypted boot loader, and a processing unit coupled to the memory. In the processing unit, a boot straper decrypts the encrypted boot loader into a plurality of boot loader instructions when the programmable device is initialized. A core executes boot loader instructionsto accordingly load and execute an operation system. The programmable device and the booting method of the invention can be started by the encrypted boot loader and can prevent the programmable device from wiretapping.
