Abstract

The invention relates to a skew correction device and recording apparatus of the skew correction device, which can perform skew correction to different kinds of sheet materials properly. For a printer provided with the skew correction device, the sheet material position is corrected in the process that the front end of the transported sheet material abuts with the door component along with the rotation of the transport roller and is deformed. The skew correction device has a lower guide member (38) between a transport roller and a register adjusting roller on the sheet material transportation direction; the lower guide member (38) includes an inclination section (44a) arranged with the register adjusting roller side higher than the transport roller side; and the inclination section (44a) can move along at least one of the transportation direction or the vertical direction.
