By using the digital television and the channel searching method thereof, after the needed address is searched, the data packet of the program information corresponding to the address can be directly acquired from the network server. A frequency point corresponding to the needed address does not need to be searched. Through analyzing the data packet of the program information corresponding to the address acquired by the frequency point, a television program corresponding to the address can be played. Therefore, channel searching time of the digital television can be substantially shortened and a channel searching efficiency can be improved.
