Embodiment Construction

[0017] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and embodiments. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described here are only used to explain the present invention, not to limit the present invention.

[0018] A method for marking honeybees with plastic straws, the method comprises the steps of:

[0019] (1) Choose plastic straws (such as figure 1 -As shown in -A): There are many straws for various drinks on the market at present, but to be used for bee marking, it is necessary to choose a transparent cylindrical plastic straw with a diameter of 6-7mm and a length of 90-150mm.

[0020] (2) circumcision (such as figure 1 -B) : First flatten the cylindrical straw (flatten) to form two sides; one side is used as the centerline of the bottom of the straw, and the other side is used as the centerline...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for utilizing a plastic straw to mark honeybees, comprising the following steps that a glass test tube is used for capturing honeybee individuals to be marked and the opening of the test tube is blocked; one end of the straw, which is provided with a vertical pipe opening, penetrates through a cotton ball or a paper ball to be inserted into the test tube; the middle section of the straw and one end with an inclined plane pipe opening are placed out of the test tube and one face with a rhombus-shaped hole is maintained to face right above; paper cards are inserted into annular notches of the most front end of the straw; the honeybees climb out through the straw; when the honeybee individuals climb to the suitable position, the two paper cards are used for limiting the honeybees between the two adjacent annular notches; a honeybee chest rear panel is rightly located at the position of the rhombus-shaped hole; a small fine rod is used for dipping suitable amount of pigment to be coated on the honeybee chest rear panel; and the paper cards are pulled out to enable the honeybees to climb out of the straw to naturally fly away from the inclined plane pipe opening, so as to finish the honeybee marking work. The materials used by the method are easy to obtain, low in price and convenient to carry and the method is simple to operate, does not cause physical or mechanical damages on the honeybees, and can rapidly and accurate mark the honeybees.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of honeybee behavior research methods, in particular to a method for marking honeybees with plastic straws. Background technique [0002] Honey bees are highly evolved social insects with complex social division of labor and behavior, and strong learning and memory abilities. They are internationally recognized model organisms for the study of social behavior and cognitive science. In the process of studying bee collecting behavior, dancing behavior, learning and memory, information transmission and making bee life table, marking a certain number of bee individuals is an important measure to carry out related research for the convenience of observation. Because honey bee adults are active and good at flying and have stinging behavior to external disturbers, it is difficult to quickly and accurately mark individual bees. The speed of freehand marking is slow, and it is easy to cause inaccurate marking positi...
