Abstract

The invention relates to a method for replacing p-xylene in a crude terephthalic acid filter cake, and is mainly used for solving the problem that in the prior art, residual p-xylene in the crude terephthalic acid filter cake is overhigh in content. The method comprises the following steps of: (a) washing the crude terephthalic acid containing acetic acid by p-xylene and filtering to obtain filter cake I; and (b) washing the filter cake I by a surfactant aqueous solution represented by formula R<1>O(CH2CH2O)nR<2>, and then filtering to obtain filter cake II, wherein R<1> in the surfactant molecules represents C12-18 alkyl or phenyl, R<2> represents C1-8 alkyl, and n represents the number of CH2CH2O structural units and is 3-15. With the adoption of the technical scheme, the problem is better solved, and the method can be applied to industrial production of terephthalic acid.
