The invention provides a virtual view rendering method which comprises the following steps of: (S1) according to a first view and a second view at a first reference viewpoint and a second reference viewpoint, respectively calculating a first disparity map of the first view relative to the second view and a second disparity map of the second view relative to the first view; (S2) according to the first view and the first disparity map as well as the second view and the second disparity map, rendering a virtual view, and respectively establishing a first index map and a second index map of the virtual view, corresponding to the first disparity and the second disparity; (S3) detecting a hole with the area exceeding a first threshold in the virtual view, determining the corresponding regions of the hole in the first view and the second view according to the first index map and the second map, and taking values in the corresponding regions to fill the hole; and (S4) filling the rest holes in the virtual view.
