Embodiment

[0073] Embodiments of the present invention will be further described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0074] At first, introduce the concrete method step of the present invention:

[0075] The invention provides a method for judging contact between a spherical particle and a triangular grid boundary for DEM simulation, comprising the following steps:

[0076] (1) Search the neighbor grid of the target particle to determine the boundary triangle unit that needs to be detected for intersection;

[0077] (2) Combining the Voronoi space of the triangle and the sign combination of the centroid coordinates to determine the initial contact information between the target particle and the boundary triangle unit;

[0078] (3) Determine the validity of the initial contact information and exclude invalid contact information, and add the effective contact information to the contact list for the discrete element method simulation program to calculate the contact forc...

Abstract

The invention relates to a contact judgment method of spherical particles and triangular meshes in discrete element simulation. The contact judgment method of the spherical particles and the triangular meshes in the discrete element simulation comprises steps of searching neighbor meshes of a target particle to confirm a boundary triangle unit which performs intersecting detection with the target particle; confirming primary contacting information between the target particle and the boundary triangle unit in combination with a symbolic assembly of triangular Voronoi space and center-of-mass coordinates; and judging effectiveness of the primary contacting information, eliminating invalid contacting information and adding the effective contacting information into a contacting linked list to calculate the contact force of particles through a discrete element simulation program. The contact judgment method of the spherical particles and the triangular meshes in the discrete element simulation has the advantages of avoiding respectively building contact judgment algorithms for every kind of basic graphic elements; providing a method for directly positioning an area generating contact to save execution steps of the contact judgment; building judging criteria for eliminating the invalid contact information among multiple contact information; and finally effectively solving the contact judgment problem of the spherical particles and complex geometry boundaries in the discrete element simulation.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of particle material dynamics simulation based on discrete element method, in particular to a method for judging contact between spherical particles and triangular grids in discrete element simulation. Background technique [0002] Contact judgment plays an extremely important role in DEM simulation. Through contact judgment, the contact situation between target objects can be deduced from their relative positional relationship in the previous time step. This process is necessary for the calculation of particle contact force in the current time step. In large-scale DEM simulations, contact judgment usually consumes a large amount of computer resources, so how to detect all contacts accurately and efficiently has been emphatically elaborated in relevant patents and literature. Usually, contact judgment goes through two stages: neighbor retrieval and intersection detection. [0003] The neighbor retrieval method usual...
