The invention relates to a hydraulic control device and a press with such a control device. Disclosed is a hydraulic control device used for a press and especially for a deep-drawing machine. The hydraulic control device has a working cylinder, and a workpiece can be supported on the working cylinder especially through a workpiece stand or a deep drawing pad relative to forces of an upper die. Forces acting on the workpiece during a pressing process are adjusted through throttling of pressure medium volume flow of a working chamber of the working cylinder. For energy recovery, hydrodynamic machinery is arranged in a pressure medium flow path parallel to the machinery. The controllable amount of the pressure medium volume flow flows through the hydrodynamic machinery. Disclosed is also a press, especially, a deep-drawing machine, having such a hydraulic control device.
