The main technical scheme of the present invention is: when a file to be scanned is uploaded to a cloud server for searching and killing, a client can firstly upload a segment, containing a file type, of the file according to an instruction of a cloud server, the cloud server analyzes the segment to determine the type of the file, determines, according to the type of the file, the location of the file segment uploaded by the client, instructs the client to only send the file segment that may contain a security problem to the cloud server according to the instruction of the cloud server to perform searching and killing, and determines the security of the file. The present invention is mainly used for a cloud searching and killing process of a file.
