The method comprises the following steps of controlling the air conditioner to enter an air sensor-free running mode if no air sensor-free control instruction is received when the air conditioner runs in a cooling mode; acquiring set temperature, and judging indoor environmental temperature according to the set temperature; if the indoor environmental temperature is higher than the set temperature, controlling the air diffusion plate to swing or controlling the air guide plate to move upwards, and controlling rotating speed of an indoor fan to be less than or equal to first preset rotating speed; if the indoor environmental temperature is lower than or equal to the set temperature, controlling the air diffusion plate to be closed, controlling the air guide plate to be opened to a preset air outlet angle, and controlling the rotating speed of the indoor fan to be lower than or equal to second preset rotating speed.
