Abstract

The invention discloses a backup method and device for BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server) equipment. The method includes that a main control board of the BRAS equipment sends a backup slave interface activation command to a second interface board if determining failure of a first interface board, wherein the command carries backup PPPOE slave interface marks, corresponding to all main PPPOE slave interfaces of the first interface board, on the second interface board; and the main control board sends user information connected to all the main PPPOE slave interfaces of the first interface board and maintained by the BRAS equipment to the second interface board. Inter-board backup for the BRAS equipment is realized and backup cost is saved.
