Abstract

The present invention provides a method for eliminating passive intermodulation interference signal in a communication system and network side equipment. The communication system comprises a baseband unit (BBU), a radio remote unit (RRU), and a common public radio interface (CPRI) which is connected to the BBU and the RRU. The method comprises the steps that: the RRU receives an uplink signal which comprises a passive intermodulation (PIM) interference signal; the RRU eliminates the first component of the PIM interference signal; the RRU sends an uplink remaining signal to the BBU through the CPRI, and the uplink remaining signal is an uplink signal with the elimination of the first component; the BBU eliminates the second component of the PIM interference signal comprised in the uplink remaining signal. Through using the RRU and the BBU, the PIM interference signal is eliminated, the complexity and storage unit cost of the RRU can be reduced, the data compression rate of the CPRI is increased, and the performance of the communication system is improved.
