Abstract

The invention discloses a method for starting a database service on a public cloud. The method comprises the steps of step S10, receiving RDS (Relational Database Service) instance information created by a user by a container management module, and creating a corresponding private network; step S20, creating a network bridge, a logic volume and a container by the container management module in a container host according to the private network, mounting the logic volume to the container, and assigning an IP address of the container according to the network bridge, wherein the logic volume comprises an RDS instance configuration data file; and step S30, transmitting a message to an RDS server by the container management module, wherein the message is used for the RDS server to initialize the container, and finishing RDS startup. The method and the system provided by the invention use a Docker technology to quickly start a high availability database, realize network, routing and ip management, and make up the shortcomings of the existing functions of Docker.
