The embodiment of the invention discloses a video live broadcasting method and a device thereof. A queue aiming at received PES (Packetized Elementary Streams) packets is preset. The method comprises the following steps: determining whether the total time of the received live broadcast video PES packets is not greater than a preset optimal broadcasting time duration; decoding and broadcasting the live broadcast video PES packets if the total time of the received live broadcast video PES packets is not greater than the preset optimal broadcasting time duration; successively adding the live broadcast video PES packets in the queue if the total time of the received live broadcast video PES packets is greater than the preset optimal broadcasting time duration; determining the number of PES packets to be modified according to the total time of the live broadcast video PES packets in the queue, the preset optimal broadcasting time and the broadcasting time occupied by single live broadcast video PES packet when the condition is met; modifying DTS (Decode Time Stamp) of the PES packets to be modified to be same and modifying PTS (Presentation Time Stamp) of the PES packets to be modified to be same; decoding the PES packets in the queue according to the DTS, and returning to the determining step and continuing to perform after finishing decoding the PES packets; and then broadcasting the decoded PES packets according to the PTS. Through the adoption of the video live broadcasting method and the device thereof, the broadcast delay time of the live broadcast video is reduced.
