Abstract

The invention discloses a method, a device and a system for updating an EPRL (Extended Preferred Roaming List) file, which relate to the technical field of mobile communication. The method comprises steps: a PRL (Preferred Roaming List) platform transmits an EPRL updating file to a short message gateway in a short message mode according to a SMGP (Short Message Gateway Protocol); the short message gateway receives the EPRL updating file transmitted by the PRL platform, the SMGP format is converted to an SMPP (Short Message Peer to Peer) format, and the file is forwarded to a short message center; the short message center receives the EPRL updating file transmitted by the short message gateway, the SMPP format is converted to an IS637 format, and the file is forwarded to a terminal; and the terminal updates the EPRL file in a card according to the received EPRL updating file in the IS637 format. Through carrying out extension and conversion on the existing SMGP, SMPP and IS637 protocols, a scheme of updating the EPRL file in a short message mode is realized, the user can complete updating of the EPRL file in a condition with no data connection, and the user experience is enhanced.
