Abstract

The invention discloses a narrowband optical notch filter comprising a light source module, an optical coupler, a first SBS filter module, an optical power adjustment module and a second SBS filter module. The light source module generates pump light. The optical coupler divides the pump light into two beams which are used as the pump light of the two filter modules respectively. The first SBS filter module carries out notch filtering on signal light to generate an intermediate signal. The optical power adjustment module adjusts the optical power of the intermediate signal. The second SBS filter is used for performing notch filtering on the intermediate signal again to output the signal light. The narrowband optical notch filter realizes the secondary filtering of the signal light so that a SBS notch filter with higher isolation and narrower 3dB bandwidth is obtained.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the fields of optical communication and microwave photonics, and more particularly relates to a narrow-band optical notch filter. Background technique [0002] The notch filter is a special band-stop filter (very narrow stop band), which is mainly used to filter out unnecessary high-amplitude interference signals in the system, so it can effectively eliminate the impact of noise. In particular, in the optical processing of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and microwave signals, due to the narrow channel spacing and large spectral range, the crosstalk between adjacent channels requires a narrow bandwidth and free spectral range (FSR) Larger optical filters to filter out noise. [0003] Although the traditional periodic notch filter has reached a high level in some indicators, due to the periodicity of the filter response, there is a restrictive relationship between its FSR and the 3dB bandwidth, so that the tra...
