The method comprises the steps of obtaining preset text information corresponding to a video; performing word segmentation processing on the preset text information, and taking word segmentation results as multiple target tag words corresponding to the video; performing matching on the target tag words in a preset topic word library to obtain target topic words corresponding to the target tag words respectively, wherein the preset topic word library comprises the topic words and the tag words corresponding to the topic words, and the topic words include network hot words similar to the tag words in word meaning; and determining at least one target topic word as a topic name corresponding to the video. By applying the method and the apparatus, the video playing amount can be increased.
