The method comprises the steps of obtaining historical data of performing network access by to-be-classified network users, wherein the to-be-classified network users are users with the historical data matched with predetermined target user features; and according to a pre-built user classification model, the historical data and the target user features, determining category information of the to-be-classified network users. By utilizing the method and the apparatus, the matched historical data is selected through the predetermined target user features; based on all contents of the historical data, the category information of the to-be-classified network users is determined; all the historical data of the to-be-classified network users is fully mined on the whole; and based on this, the category information of the to-be-classified network users is determined, so that the condition meeting degree of target users is relatively high and the category information accuracy is improved.
