The method comprises the steps that the version client determines a to-be-downloaded version file and sends a file download request to a first server; the version client receives version information returned by the first server and determines the download address of a corresponding plist file; andthe plist file is acquired from a second server according to the download address, and after the plist file is successfully verified, the version file is downloaded from the first server. Accordingly,due to the fact that the first server and the second server are deployed in a same intranet and the second server has a legal certificate, for the ipa-type to-be-downloaded version file, the versionclient can acquire the download address of the corresponding plist file according to the version information to access the plist file, then automatic distribution of the ipa-type version file is achieved, and the distribution and testing efficiency of the version file is improved.
