The method comprises the following steps: determining icons to be arranged on a first desktop; moving the icon to be sorted to a temporary storage area on the first desktop; moving a target icon to be sorted in the temporary storage area to a target location, wherein the target location isat least one of a newly created folder on a second desktop, an idle area on the second desktop, an opened folder on the second desktop, a newly created third desktop and a recycle bin. Compared with the traditional way of arranging icons, the embodiment of the invention can simplify the process of arranging icons and improve the experience of users.
