The embodiment of the invention discloses a transmission method of a reference signal pattern, and a related apparatus, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a network device determines the number N of symbols occupied by channel state information reference signal CSI-RS resource, wherein N is a positive integer, N={1, 2, 4}; the network device obtains a pattern of the CSI-RS resourceaccording to the number N of the symbols; the network device sends corresponding configuration information of the pattern of the CSI-RS resource to a terminal device, wherein N=1, the pattern of the CSI-RS resource occupies one resource element RE on a time domain, and occupies at least 4 continuous RE on a frequency domain; or, N=2, the pattern of the CSI-RS resource occupies two continuous RE onthe time domain and occupies at least two continuous RE on the frequency domain; or, N=4, the pattern of the CSI-RS resource occupies 4 continuous RE on the time domain and occupies at least two continuous RE on the frequency domain.
