Portable watermelon tester apparatus

Abstract

The invented portable tester for testing watermelon includes the two miniature microphones, which through the leather cups are fixed on the bracket. The drive hammer trough the hinge is installed on the bracket. The one end of the spring is fixed on the bracket, and the stop rod is on the bar of the drive hammber above the spring. The signal wire through the differential amplifier, the filter and the comparator to the microprocessor. In the ripening process of watermelon, the propagation speed of the sound wave is decreased as increase of the maturity. This is the reference of the invention. The two microphones are setup at certain distance. Slapping watermelon generates the sound wave. The two microphones record the sound wave. The propagation speed is calculated from the time difference of the two microphones so as to determine the maturity.
