Abstract

A numerical controller that reduces the time required to animate the toolpaths of NC programs that contain small motion instructions. Blocks are sequentially read from the NC program, and the cumulative value of the commanded motion distance from the last animation drawing position is acquired by accumulating the motion amount. Only when the accumulated value is the preset value or greater, clear the accumulated value and draw the tool path to the position specified by the current command. When the blocks containing tiny motion instructions are consecutive, so that the cumulative value does not reach the predetermined value, animation drawing will not be performed, thus reducing the time required for animation drawing and making high-speed animation drawing possible. When the predetermined value is set to the minimum display unit (one point), a small movement smaller than the minimum unit that does not generate a new tool path diagram is omitted in the animation drawing, thereby removing useless graphics processing.
