[0022] specific implementation plan

[0023] Figures 1 to 3 Indicates a merchandise storage unit in a supermarket or similar store for the display and sale of refrigerated or frozen merchandise. As shown, the interior of the merchandise storage unit where merchandise is displayed can be accessed from the longer sides 2,4. The two longer sides, respectively the first side 2 and the second side 4, are parallel, and the commodity storage unit 1 has an essentially substantially rectangular shape. Commodity storage unit 1 has storage chamber 8, and storage chamber 8 can be divided into two parts with partition wall 3, as image 3 shown. The storage chamber 8 has a top opening 7 on which an outer cover is mounted.

[0024] The outer cover comprises a plurality of rails 5 arranged in parallel at predetermined and preferably equal distances between the first and second longer sides 2,4. The track 5 has three guide rails in which the cover plates 6, 9, 10 are movably mounted. Th...

Abstract

The present invention concerns a cover for a refrigerated merchandising storage unit (1) for display and sale of foodstuffs and the like comprising a storage compartment (8) having an essentially rectangular top opening (7) with the cover including two displaceable lids (10a, 10b) arranged in two rows the long sides (2, 4) of the storage unit (1) so that good access is provided to the storage compartment (8), wherein the cover is provided with a stationary cover plate (6a) extending parallel to said sides (2, 4) adjacent to one long side of the storage unit (1), and a rail system with a number of parallelly mounted transverse rails (5a) between the two long sides (2, 4), and the lids (10a, 10b) are displaceably mounted between two adjacent rails (5a) of the rail system, said rails (5a) comprising separate tracks for the lids (10a, 10b) in each of the rows, whereby the lids (10a, 10b) in the rows are displaceable in a direction perpendicular to the long sides (2, 4). Hereby, good access may be provided along the entire length without creating a pump effect by operating the lids (10a, 10b). In addition, good visual access is provided for easy examination of the contents of the merchandising unit (1), since the cover according to the invention provides for the possibility of simultaneous opening of a large percentage of the total top of the merchandising unit (1). <IMAGE>

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an outer cover of a commodity display unit for displaying commodities, in particular to a refrigerated commodity display unit. The outer cover of the rectangular opening at the top of the storage compartment includes removable covers arranged in two rows along the relatively longer sides of the storage unit so that the storage compartment can be accessed from both sides of the storage unit. Background technique [0002] For many years, department stores have commonly used refrigerated or frozen storage units of the type described above, which can be accessed from the top along both sides of the unit to allow consumers or staff to observe the contents of the storage unit and to freely and unhindered Access from the top. [0003] During periods when a department store or similar store is closed, a refrigerated or frozen merchandise storage unit may be covered with an insulated mat to reduce energy consumption when storing mercha...
