However, in this case adjacent real CIR estimates may overlap in the same transform domain
Therefore, despite the use of a real LPF, if Figure 5 As shown by the anomalous line in (c), adjacent real CIR estimates may still exist, making the channel estimate erroneous
[0032] And, if the real LPF bandwidth is limited by T U / 6 limit or ratio T U / 6 is narrow and may not fully filter as Figure 5 The real CIR of (a), so that the channel estimation is wrong

Abstract

A method for performing channel estimation in a receiver of a digital terrestrial television system can be provided by interpolating a complex signal in a frequency domain using a complex filter. The interpolation can be provided, for example, by interpolating, in the time domain, a fast fourier transformed orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal and interpolating, in a frequency domain, a complex OFDM signal using the complex filter with a predetermined bandwidth. Related equalizers and computer program products are also disclosed.

Description

[0001] This application claims priority from Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0065381 filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on Aug. 19, 2004, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to receivers, and more particularly to channel estimation for digital television. Background technique [0003] A method of transmitting digital television (TV) can be divided into a vestigial sideband (VSB) method and a coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) method, the VSB method being a single-carrier modulation method, and the COFDM method being a multi-carrier modulation method. A digital video terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T) system using the COFDM method has been adopted by European countries as a next-generation digital terrestrial TV transmission system. Many European countries are using the DVB-T system for trial broadcasting, and the DVB-T system shares the global digital marke...
