Benefits of technology

[0007]Accordingly, the invention presents a simplistic device that alleviates the strain on both the recipient and the technician during a manicure procedure. Because of its configuration, the device may be employed at two respective heights, thereby assuring an optimum ergonomic working height for the manicure procedures. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes.

Problems solved by technology

Comfort is difficult to achieve, however, if the recipient's hands and arms are not properly supported and the technician must bend over and provide some support for the recipient's hand and arm in order to perform the manicure functions.
These positions cause strain in the wrists, back, neck, elbows, etc. of the technician and cause tiring and strain in the arms and shoulders of the recipient.
Furthermore, many nail products (especially acrylics) crystallize and are prone to cracking if not applied at a warm temperature, which warm temperature does not occur if the hand is exposed only to ambient room temperatures.
However, none of the various related art devices have proven effective.

Embodiment Construction

[0013]Attention is directed to FIGS. 1-3 of the drawings wherein the armrest for manicures is generally indicated at 10. The armrest 10 is an elongate container having a profile configured as an isosceles triangle having sides 12, 14 and 16 (or more particularly, as a triangular right prism in which the opposing bases are isosceles triangles). Sides 14 and 16 are of equal length. A spout 18 is disposed on one end 20 of the container whereby the interior of the container may be accessed. A removable cap 22 is mounted on spout 18. As contemplated, the ideal length for each side 14, 16 is approximately 6″. The ideal length for side 12 is 4.5″. When side 14 or 16 is used as a base, the height of the triangular device presents a good working height for prepping and polishing nails. When side 12 is used as the base, the working height eases the stress on the technician's wrist, elbows and back during the procedure. The ideal length of the container is 15″. Although a lightweight plastic i...

Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION[0001]This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61 / 282,056, filed Dec. 8, 2009.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]1. Field of the Invention[0003]The present invention generally relates to support devices, and more particularly to an armrest that provides a device for supporting the hands and arms of a person receiving a manicure.[0004]2. Description of the Related Art[0005]A top-notch manicure is better performed if both the recipient of the manicure and the manicure technician are comfortable. Furthermore, many nai...
