Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition. Background Art
[0002] In cosmetics having ultraviolet protection effects such as sunscreen, generally, metal oxide particles such as titanium oxide particles and zinc oxide particles are used as ultraviolet scattering agent particles. In addition, such metal oxide particles are often dispersed in liquid oil and mixed into cosmetics.
[0003] Generally, when dispersing metal oxide particles in a liquid oil component, silicone oil is often used as the oil component serving as a dispersion medium in order to obtain a good dispersion state.
[0004] On the other hand, in recent years, there has been a demand for cosmetics to be silicone-free or to reduce the amount of silicone used.
[0005] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a fine-particle metal oxide dispersion composition in which fine-particle metal oxide is dispersed in a non-silicone oil. More specifically, the fine-particle metal oxide dispersion composition of Patent Document 1 is characterized by containing the following components (a) to (c): (a) fine-particle metal oxide having a particle size of 1 to 100 nm surface-treated with trialkoxyalkylsilane, (b) polyhydroxystearic acid, and (c) one or more oils selected from hydrocarbon oils and ester oils.

[0046] Effects of the Invention
[0047] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition which has high dispersibility of ultraviolet scattering agent powder in liquid oil, is less likely to agglomerate, and has high high-temperature stability even when silicone oil is not contained or the blending amount of silicone oil is small. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0048] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail. It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the spirit of the invention.
[0049] 《Water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition》
[0050] The water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition of the present invention (hereinafter also referred to as "the composition of the present invention") is a composition, which is a water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition, and comprises the following components:
[0051] Surface treated zinc oxide particles,
[0052] Surface treated titanium oxide particles,
[0053] Polyhydroxystearic acid,
[0054] Polyglycerol polyricinoleate,
[0055] Organic modified clay minerals,
[0056] Water-based ingredients, and
[0057] Liquid oil,
[0058] The content of the polyhydroxystearic acid is less than 1.0% by mass, and
[0059] The content of the aqueous component is less than 15% by mass.
[0060] When the ultraviolet scattering agent particles are dispersed in the liquid oil of the water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition without using silicone oil, the dispersion is insufficient, and thus the cosmetic composition may have poor spreading. In addition, according to the inventors' in-depth research, it is known that although the dispersibility of the ultraviolet scattering agent particles can be improved by adjusting the dispersant used together with the ultraviolet scattering agent, agglomeration occurs at a certain dispersion state. Furthermore, even when the dispersibility and anti-agglomeration property of the ultraviolet scattering agent particles are improved, the high temperature stability of the cosmetic composition may be poor.
[0061] The agglomeration phenomenon refers to a phenomenon in which particles such as metal oxide particles that have settled due to standing still or the like adhere to each other and do not return to the original dispersed state even when shaken.
[0062] Furthermore, the present inventors conducted further intensive studies and obtained a water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic composition in which the metal oxide particles have high dispersibility, are less likely to agglomerate, and have high high-temperature stability even when silicone oil is not used or the amount of silicone oil used is small.
[0063] In the present invention, the surface-treated zinc oxide particles are not particularly limited, and examples thereof include sugar fatty acid ester-treated zinc oxide particles, silane coupling agent-treated zinc oxide particles, silicone-treated zinc oxide particles, and stearic acid-treated zinc oxide particles.
[0064] The sugar fatty acid ester-treated zinc oxide particles are not particularly limited, and examples thereof include dextrin palmitate-treated zinc oxide particles, dextrin myristate-treated zinc oxide particles, dextrin (palmitic acid / hexyldecanoic acid) ester-treated zinc oxide particles, and dextrin (palmitic acid / ethylhexanoic acid) ester-treated zinc oxide particles. Among them, dextrin palmitate-treated zinc oxide particles are preferred.
[0065] The zinc oxide particles treated with a silane coupling agent are not particularly limited, and examples thereof include zinc oxide particles treated with the following silane coupling agents. The silane coupling agent is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include trichlorosilanes such as octadecyltrichlorosilane, triethoxysilanes such as octyltriethoxysilane (OTS), and perfluoroalkylsilanes. Among them, zinc oxide particles treated with octyltriethoxysilane (i.e., zinc oxide particles treated with triethoxyoctylsilane) are preferred.
[0066] The organosilicon-treated zinc oxide particles are not particularly limited, and examples thereof include zinc oxide particles treated with the following organosilicon treatment agents. The organosilicon treatment agent is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include dimethylpolysiloxane (polydimethylsiloxane), methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, and a combination of methylhydrogenpolysiloxane and dimethylpolysiloxane, such as a combination of polydimethylsiloxane and hydrogenated polydimethylsiloxane, but the invention is not limited thereto.
[0067] As the surface-treated zinc oxide particles, commercially available products may be used as they are, or the surfaces of the zinc oxide particles may be treated with a surface treatment agent.
[0068] For example, when the surface-treated zinc oxide particles are dextrin palmitate-treated zinc oxide particles, the dextrin palmitate-treated zinc oxide particles can be obtained by mixing and stirring the zinc oxide particles in a dextrin palmitate solution for a certain period of time and filtering the solution.
[0069] In the present invention, the average primary particle size of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 5 nm or more, 10 nm or more, or 15 nm or more, or 200 nm or less, 100 nm or less, or 50 nm or less. It should be noted that, in the present invention, unless otherwise specified, the "average primary particle size" of the particles can be obtained as the projected area equivalent circle diameter of the primary particles in the TEM image.
[0070] The shape of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include spherical, plate-like, rod-like, spindle-like, needle-like, and irregular shapes.
[0071] In the composition of the present invention, the content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles (it should be noted that, in the case of a mixture comprising a plurality of surface-treated zinc oxide particles, its total content) is not particularly limited. From the viewpoint of obtaining a higher SPF and the viewpoint of inhibiting agglomeration, the lower limit of the content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles relative to the entire composition, for example, can be 5.0% by mass or more, 10% by mass or more, 15% by mass or more, 18% by mass or more, or 20% by mass or more, and preferably 15% by mass or more, 18% by mass or more, or 20% by mass or more. In addition, from the viewpoint of maintaining a good dispersed state, the upper limit of the content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles relative to the entire composition, for example, can be 50% by mass or less, 45% by mass or less, 40% by mass or less, 35% by mass or less, 30% by mass or less, 25% by mass or less, or 20% by mass or less, and preferably 30% by mass or less, 25% by mass or less, or 20% by mass or less.
[0072] In addition, in the composition of the present invention, from the viewpoint of further expressing the effects of the present invention, the content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles is preferably larger than the content of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described below.
[0073] Further, in the composition of the present invention, the total content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described below is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of obtaining a higher SPF, for example, relative to the entire composition, it can be 5.0% by mass or more, 10% by mass or more, 15% by mass or more, 18% by mass or more, 20% by mass or more, 25% by mass or more, 30% by mass or more, or 33% by mass or more, and from the viewpoint of maintaining a good dispersion state, it can be 55% by mass or less, 50% by mass or less, 45% by mass or less, 40% by mass or less, 35% by mass or less, or 33% by mass or less. It should be noted that, in the case where the composition of the present invention contains a plurality of surface-treated zinc oxide particles, the so-called "total content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described below" here refers to the total content of all surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described below.
[0074] In addition, in the composition of the present invention, the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described later can be dispersed in the liquid oil. From the viewpoint of obtaining a higher SPF, the total amount of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described later can be 30 mass parts or more, 35 mass parts or more, 40 mass parts or more, 45 mass parts or more, 50 mass parts or more, 55 mass parts or more, or 60 mass parts or more relative to a total of 100 mass parts of liquid oil. In addition, the upper limit of the total amount of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles described later is not particularly limited, for example, relative to a total of 100 mass parts of liquid oil, it can be 200 mass parts or less, 150 mass parts or less, or 100 mass parts or less. It should be noted that in the case where the composition of the present invention includes a plurality of surface-treated zinc oxide particles, the so-called "total amount of surface-treated zinc oxide particles and surface-treated titanium oxide particles described later" here refers to the total amount of all surface-treated zinc oxide particles and surface-treated titanium oxide particles described later.
[0075] 〈Surface treated titanium oxide particles〉
[0076] The composition of the present invention comprises surface-treated titanium oxide particles. The surface-treated titanium oxide particles can provide the composition of the present invention with an ultraviolet protection effect.
[0077] Here, the surface treatment may be, for example, a surface treatment for hydrophobization.
[0078] As the surface treatment of titanium oxide particles, more specifically, for example, fatty acid treatment (including metal soap treatment), fluorine compound treatment, pendant treatment, silane coupling agent treatment, silicone treatment, titanium coupling agent treatment, oil treatment, N-acylated lysine treatment, polyacrylic acid treatment, amino acid treatment, inorganic compound treatment, plasma treatment, and mechanochemical treatment, etc., can be cited, but are not limited to these. Among these surface treatments, from the perspective of dispersion stability, fatty acid treatment, especially stearic acid treatment, stearic acid soap treatment, etc. are preferred. As stearic acid soap treatment, for example, treatment with a mixture of a metal salt of stearic acid or a mixture of stearic acid and a metal hydroxide (such as aluminum hydroxide, etc.) can be cited, but are not limited to these. In addition, in order to suppress the catalytic activity caused by titanium oxide, titanium oxide particles are preferably treated with inorganic compounds such as aluminum hydroxide in advance before surface treatment with organic compounds such as fatty acid treatment. Therefore, in a preferred embodiment, the surface of titanium oxide particles is treated with aluminum hydroxide and fatty acids, for example.
[0079] As the surface-treated titanium oxide particles, commercially available products may be used as they are, or the surface of titanium oxide particles may be treated with the above-mentioned surface treatment agent.
[0080] In the present invention, the average primary particle size of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 5 nm or more, 10 nm or more, or 15 nm or less, and 200 nm or less, 100 nm or less, or 50 nm or less.
[0081] The shape of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include spherical, plate-like, rod-like, spindle-like, needle-like, and irregular shapes.
[0082] In the composition of the present invention, the content of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles is not particularly limited. From the viewpoint of obtaining a higher SPF, the lower limit of the content of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles relative to the entire composition, for example, can be 1.0% by mass or more, 2.0% by mass or more, 3.0% by mass or more, 4.0% by mass or more, 5.0% by mass or more, 6.0% by mass or more, 7.0% by mass or more, 8.0% by mass or more, 9.0% by mass or more, 10% by mass or more, or 13% by mass or more. In addition, from the viewpoint of maintaining a good dispersion state, the upper limit of the content of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles relative to the entire composition, for example, can be 20% by mass or less, 15% by mass or less, or 13% by mass or less.
[0083] As described above, in the composition of the present invention, the content of the surface-treated titanium oxide particles is preferably smaller than the content of the surface-treated zinc oxide particles (in the case of a mixture of a plurality of surface-treated zinc oxide particles, the total content thereof).
[0084] 〈Polyhydroxystearic acid〉
[0085] The composition of the present invention contains polyhydroxystearic acid. The polyhydroxystearic acid, in particular, has the effect of uniformly dispersing the above-mentioned surface-treated zinc oxide particles and ultraviolet scattering agent particles such as surface-treated titanium oxide particles in the liquid oil together with the polyglycerol polyricinoleate described later, and has the effect of providing good extension to the composition of the present invention.
[0086] Polyhydroxystearic acid is a compound oligomerized by forming an ester bond with hydroxystearic acid, and commercially available products include HS Oligomer 600 (manufactured by Toyokoku Oil Refining Co., Ltd.) and Saracos HS-6C (manufactured by Nissin Olyo Co., Ltd.), and the like, which can be used. In addition, the degree of polymerization of polyhydroxystearic acid is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 4 to 8.
[0087] In the composition of the present invention, the content of polyhydroxystearic acid is less than 1.0 mass % relative to the whole composition. When the content of polyhydroxystearic acid is less than 1.0 mass %, there is the possibility that the high temperature stability of the cosmetic composition can be improved. More specifically, the content of polyhydroxystearic acid can be less than 1.0 mass %, less than 0.9 mass %, less than 0.8 mass %, less than 0.7 mass %, less than 0.6 mass %, less than 0.5 mass %, less than 0.4 mass %, or less than 0.3 mass %, relative to the whole composition, in addition, from the viewpoint of improving the dispersion effect, it can be more than 0 mass %, more than 0.05 mass %, more than 0.1 mass %, more than 0.2 mass %, more than 0.3 mass %, more than 0.4 mass %, more than 0.5 mass %, more than 0.6 mass %, or more than 0.7 mass %.
[0088] 〈Polyglycerol polyricinoleate〉

In addition, it may be 90% by mass or less, 80% by mass or less, or 60% by mass or less.
[0114] 〈Optional Ingredients〉
[0115] The composition of the present invention may further contain semi-solid oil such as di-diglycerol polyacyladipate-2 as an optional component. It should be noted that in the present invention, the so-called semi-solid oil is due to the fact that it is soluble in water at room temperature (25°C) and normal pressure (1 atmosphere (9.8×10 4 Pa)) does not solidify or liquefy at all, and therefore the oil component distinguished from the liquid oil component and the solid oil component is, for example, a substance having a melting point in the range of more than 25°C (preferably more than 30°C) and less than 55°C (preferably less than 50°C). It should be noted that the so-called "solid" in the present invention refers to a substance that is solid at room temperature (25°C) and normal pressure (1 atmosphere (9.8×10 4 Pa)) can remain solid.
[0116] Bis(diglyceryl)polyacyl adipate-2 is an ester oil of diglycerol and adipic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, isostearic acid, stearic acid, and hydroxystearic acid. Bis(diglyceryl)polyacyl adipate-2 can function as a softener and a water resistance improver in the composition of the present invention.
[0117] In the composition of the present invention, the content of di-diglycerol polyacyl adipate-2 when included is not particularly limited, and can be, for example, 0.1% by mass or more, 0.5% by mass or more, 1.0% by mass or more, 2.0% by mass or more, or 3.0% by mass or less, relative to the entire composition, and can also be 10% by mass or less, 5.0% by mass or less, or 3.0% by mass or less.
[0118] In addition to the above-mentioned ingredients, the composition of the present invention may further contain, for example, alcohols, moisturizers, thickeners, powder components (powders other than the above-mentioned surface-treated zinc oxide particles and surface-treated titanium oxide particles), antioxidants, stabilizers, chelating agents, preservatives, fragrances, etc.
[0119] 〈Preparation method and use〉
[0120] The composition of the present invention can be prepared by a method commonly used for water-in-oil emulsified cosmetic compositions. For example, it can be prepared by separately preparing an oil phase component obtained by dispersing ultraviolet scattering agent powders such as the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles in a liquid oil component, and an aqueous component, and then adding the aqueous component while stirring the oil phase component to emulsify the mixture.
[0121] The composition of the present invention may be a cosmetic material of the type in which the ultraviolet scattering agent powders such as the surface-treated zinc oxide particles and the surface-treated titanium oxide particles are settled by being left to stand when not in use, and the ultraviolet scattering agent powders are uniformly redispersed by being shaken when in use.
[0122] Therefore, the composition of the present invention can be used as a sunscreen cosmetic. More specifically, the composition of the present invention can be provided not only as, for example, a sunscreen cream, a sunscreen lotion, or a sunscreen lotion, but can also be used as a foundation, a primer, a color cosmetic, a hair cosmetic, etc., which impart a sunscreen effect.
[0123] Example
[0124] The present invention will be described in further detail below with reference to Examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto. It should be noted that, unless otherwise specified, the blending amount is expressed in mass % based on the mass of the cosmetic composition.
[0125] 《Examples 1 to 8 and Comparative Examples 1 to 7》
[0126] Cosmetic compositions of Examples and Comparative Examples were prepared based on the formulations shown in Tables 1 and 2. The compositions obtained were evaluated for "good ductility", "anti-blocking properties", and "high temperature stability" according to the following criteria, and the results are shown in Table 1.
[0127] Each composition obtained in the examples and comparative examples was tested by 20 professional cosmetics evaluation panelists. It should be noted that good ductility is derived from the dispersion state of the metal oxide particles dispersed in each composition. For each composition, each panelist evaluated "good ductility" in 5 levels according to the following "Evaluation Criteria", and further determined the average score of all panelists' scores according to the following 4-level judgment criteria.
[0128] (Evaluation Criteria)
[0129]
[0130]
[0131] (Judgment Criteria)
[0132] "A": average score of 4 or above,
[0133] "B": Average score of 3 or more to less than 4,
[0134] "C": average score of 1.5 or above to less than 3,
[0135] “D”: Average score is less than 1.5.
[0136] 〈Anti-caking properties〉
[0137] The samples of each composition obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples immediately after preparation were evaluated for anti-caking properties by means of an accelerated sedimentation evaluation test.
[0138] More specifically, 35 g of each sample was filled in a 50 ml centrifugal sedimentation tube and centrifuged at 800 rpm for 30 minutes. The centrifuged samples were shaken a predetermined number of times and evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria:
[0139] "A": The settled powder is dispersed again by shaking once or more and 10 times or less, and the sample becomes uniform.
[0140] "B": The settled powder was dispersed again by shaking 11 times or more and 20 times or less, and the sample became uniform.
[0141] "C": The settled powder is dispersed again by shaking 21 times or more and 100 times or less, and the sample becomes uniform.
[0142] "D": The case where the settled powder was not redispersed even after shaking 150 times.
[0143] It should be noted that in the case of the above "A", it was evaluated that no caking occurred, that is, the caking resistance was the best. In addition, in the order from "B" to "D", it was evaluated that the caking resistance gradually became worse, and in particular, in the case of "D", it was evaluated that the caking resistance was the worst.
[0144] 〈High temperature stability〉
[0145] Each composition obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples was stored at 50° C. for 4 weeks, and then evaluated for high temperature stability by a sedimentation acceleration evaluation test.
[0146] More specifically, 35 g of each sample after storage at 50°C for 4 weeks was placed in a 50 ml centrifugal sedimentation tube and centrifuged at 800 rpm for 30 minutes. The sample container after centrifugation was shaken a predetermined number of times and evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria:
[0147] "A": The settled powder is dispersed again by shaking once or more and 10 times or less, and the sample becomes uniform.
[0148] "B": The settled powder was dispersed again by shaking 11 times or more and 20 times or less, and the sample became uniform.
[0149] "C": The settled powder is dispersed again by shaking 21 times or more and 100 times or less, and the sample becomes uniform.
[0150] "D": The case where the settled powder was not redispersed even after shaking 150 times.
[0151] "E": (at the stage before centrifugation) the sample was strongly thickened / gelled and lost fluidity, making the sedimentation acceleration evaluation test difficult.
[0152] It should be noted that in the case of "A" above, it was evaluated that no caking occurred and the caking resistance was the best, that is, the high temperature stability after being stored at 50°C for 4 weeks was the highest. In addition, in the order from "B" to "E", it was evaluated that the high temperature stability gradually became worse, and in particular, in the case of "E", the sedimentation acceleration evaluation test could not be performed, and it was evaluated that the high temperature stability was the worst.
[0153] [Table 1]
[0154]
[0155] [Table 2]
[0156] (Table 2 Details of "Liquid Oil" in Table 1)
[0157]
[0158] As is clear from the results in Table 1, the compositions of Examples 1 to 8 were excellent in the evaluation results of good ductility, anti-blocking property, and high-temperature stability.
[0159] In contrast, in the case of Comparative Examples 1 and 5 not containing polyglycerol polyricinoleate, when the content of polyhydroxystearic acid was increased to 3.3 mass % (Comparative Example 1), although the evaluation result of good ductility was good, the evaluation results of anti-caking and high temperature stability were poor. On the other hand, when the content of polyhydroxystearic acid was reduced to 0.5 mass % (Comparative Example 5), the evaluation result of good ductility was poor.
[0160] Furthermore, it is understood that in Comparative Examples 2 and 4 not containing polyhydroxystearic acid, even if the content of polyglycerol polyricinoleate is changed, the evaluation results of good ductility are poor.
[0161] Furthermore, it was found that in Comparative Example 3 in which the content of polyhydroxystearic acid was 1.0% by mass, the evaluation results of anti-blocking property and high-temperature stability were poor.
[0162] Furthermore, it is found that in Comparative Examples 6 and 7 in which the content of the aqueous component is 15% by mass or more, although the evaluation results of the anti-blocking property are good, the evaluation results of the good ductility and the high-temperature stability are poor.
[0163] 《Examples 9 to 11 and Comparative Example 8》
[0164] Compositions of Examples 9 to 11 were prepared in the same manner as in Example 6 except that various polyglycerol polyricinoleate shown in Table 3 were used in place of polyglycerol-6 polyricinoleate as a constituent component of Example 6.
[0165] Furthermore, a composition of Comparative Example 8 was prepared in the same manner as in Example 6, except that isostearic acid known as a general surfactant was used instead of polyglyceryl-6 polyricinoleate which is a constituent component of Example 6, and the aqueous component content was blended as shown in Table 3.
[0166] These compositions were evaluated for "good ductility", "anti-blocking property" and "high temperature stability" in the same manner as above, and the results are shown in Table 3. In addition, the results of Example 6 are also shown in Table 3 for reference.
[0167] [Table 3]
[0168] (Table 3 Examples 6 and 9 to 11, and Comparative Example 8)
[0169]
[0170] From the results in Table 3, it can be seen that the compositions of Examples 6 and 9 to 11 were excellent in the evaluation results of good ductility, anti-blocking property and high temperature stability.
[0171] On the other hand, it was found that in Comparative Example 8 using isostearic acid, a surfactant generally used as a dispersant, the evaluation results of good ductility and high temperature stability were poor.
