57 results about "Console application" patented technology

A console application is a computer program designed to be used via a text-only computer interface, such as a text terminal, the command line interface of some operating systems (Unix, DOS, etc.) or the text-based interface included with most Graphical User Interface (GUI) operating systems, such as the Win32 console in Microsoft Windows, the Terminal in Mac OS X, and xterm in Unix. A user typically interacts with a console application using only a keyboard and display screen, as opposed to GUI applications, which normally require the use of a mouse or other pointing device. Many console applications such as command line interpreters are command line tools, but numerous text-based user interface (TUI) programs also exist.

Two-factor graphical password for text password and encryption key generation

This invention details systems, methods, and devices for providing a two-factor graphical password system to a user so that the user may obtain access to a restricted resource. A first previously selected image (previously selected by the user) is presented to the user to enter his password by sequentially selecting predetermined areas on the first image. The user's input is used to create an encryption / decryption key which is used for communicating between a user application and a device. If the user has entered the correct password, then the device can communicate with the user application. Once the device can communicate with the user application, a second previously selected image (previously selected by the user) is presented to the user from the device. The user enters his second password and the user's input is sent to the device. The device then creates the user's alphanumeric password or another encryption key from the user's input and sends this to the user application. The user application then transmits the password or key to the system which restricts access to the restricted resource.

Internet operating system

An Internet-based operating system whereby use of data and application software stored on a server may be selectively downloaded to a client device upon request therefrom allowing server-based applications to be accessed and executed on the client device. Because secure communication may readily be established between the server and the client device, many traditional problems of remote data access are overcome. Application software, typically Java code, provides an inherently virus-proof programming language. The end user, operating a client device may access a wide variety of application software with no need to purchase, install, and maintain the software on his machine. Using an easy-to-use GUI, a user selects an application, opens existing or creates new files. The application executable code is identified by a link embedded in a stream of markup language, typically XML. The operating system allows complex applications to be executed on thin clients having limited memory / storage capacity.

Federating legacy/remote content into a central network console

Content from multiple remote / legacy consoles is aggregated within a central console to provide a single point-of-access for managing remote resources. Preferred embodiments deploy the central console as a network-accessible application, and this console application communicates with remotely-located console applications (and / or other locally-executing functions) that carry out tasks selected from the central console by an administrator and then return content generated by those tasks for rendering in the central console. The run-time environment used at the central console is not required to match the run-time environment of the remote / legacy consoles.

Per-user application rendering in the presence of application sharing

Architecture that allows users in an application sharing environment to separately view portions of data that are not part of the current shared view. An enhanced application sharing component is provided that facilitates rendering the application data multiple times for a correspondingly similar number of simultaneous users, and sending the additional renderings to the other users for interaction. Each user client includes an application sharing viewer that composites the per-user renderings onto the base shared image of the user client to create a per-user view of the shared document. The enhanced sharing component renders the portion of the data that is requested by the remote user as a bitmap and passes the bitmap along with coordinate information to the client rendering program presentation with the shared data view. The coordinate information indicates where on the shared screen of the remote client the bitmap is overlayed to produce a seamless experience.
