Abstract

The invention discloses an icon generating device, which includes a mode selection part and an icon generating part. The mode selection section allows a user to select at least one display mode for each data file from a plurality of display modes. The icon generating section generates icon data for each data file based on a display mode selected for each data file and based on data content of the data file, and outputs the generated icon data for each data file.
