The invention discloses a folding automobile seat and a four-connecting rod mechanism for supporting the seat; the four four-connecting rod mechanism comprises a connecting rod, a seat mounting bracket, a right-and-left connecting rod, a fore-and-aft connecting rod and a locking mechanism; one end of the connecting rod is connected with the seat mounting bracket through a pin; the other end of the connecting rod is connected with the right-and-left connecting rod and the fore-and-aft connecting rod through pins; and the locking mechanism is arranged on one of two rear connecting rods and is used for locking the connecting rod when the seat is in a riding state. The lower part of the seat is provided with the four-connecting rod mechanism; when the seat is in the riding state, the four-connecting rod mechanism is locked; a cushion is in the highest position; when the seats of the rear row are not used and the storage space is needed to increase, the seat backs can be set level; and after the four-connecting rod mechanism is unlocked through an unlocking part, the four-connecting rod mechanism drives the folded seats to move forwards and reduces height of the seats at the same time. The four-connecting rod mechanism furthest broadens the space of a boot, keeps the decoration of the automobile neat and attractive and brings great convenience for a user.
