A photo management system used for an image capture device comprises a storage unit, a database, a retrieval unit, a taxonomic unit and an establishment unit; a plurality of photos is stored in the storage unit; the file information of the photos comprises the coordinates of shooting locations corresponding to the photos; the coordinate information and the location names corresponding to the coordinate information are stored in the database; the retrieval unit retrieves in the database according to the coordinates of the shooting locations of the photos in the storage unit; the establishment unit establishes a catalogue in the storage unit by using the location names as a catalogue name; the taxonomic unit classifies the photos corresponding to the shooting locations to the catalogue names of the location names corresponding to the coordinates according to the coordinates of the shooting locations. The photo management system searches in the database according to the coordinates of the shooting locations of the photos to obtain the corresponding location names, establishes the catalogues by using the location names and classifies the corresponding photos to the catalogues so as to facilitate the users to manage photos according to the shooting locations of the photos.
