Abstract

The invention relates to a home gateway and a method thereof for realizing driving of USB equipment, comprising a USB interface module used for connecting USB peripheral equipment and a USB equipmentfirmware library module used for memorizing firmware for supporting the operation of the USB peripheral equipment; and when the USB peripheral equipment is started, the firmware is loaded by the USB interface module. By increasing the firmware loading function on the home gateway, the compatibility problem of the peripheral equipment used for loading the firmware so as to operate is solved, thereby being suitable for the condition of the home gateway with small memory space; and the shared using of all peripheral equipment is realized without installing various equipment drivers.
