The method for configuring the external communication protocol comprises an operation method for configuring a communication protocol plug-in server terminal and the operation method for configuring a communication protocol plug-in client terminal. The invention can well achieve division development of software modules and can multiplex codes; the use of a plug-in technology leads the expansion and upgrading of functions of communication platform core software to be convenient and simple; and the invention reduces the trouble and time of rewrite, compilation and issue of communication protocol software and provides a simple, rapid and uniform method and an interface for webpage configuration.
