Abstract

The invention discloses a sidelight-type LED backlight dynamic partitioning control method. The LEDs are arranged on four side faces of a light guide plate. The method comprises the following steps: partitioning the backlight region into rectangular control regions, and respectively partitioning LEDs on the four side faces according to the partitioning of the rectangular control regions; establishing an equation of the brightness of each control region and the brightness which is provided for the control region by the LED subblock of the corresponding control region, and considering the equations with the same LED subblock as a system of equations; substituting the actual brightness of each control region in the system of equations; according to the number of brightnesses provided for the corresponding control regions by the LED subblocks, calculating the average value of the LED subblock brightnesses as the brightness value which is provided for the corresponding control region by the LED subblock, and substituting the brightness value in the system of equations to solve the brightness of each LED subblock; and adjusting the brightness of the LED subblock on the side face of the light guide plate according to the obtained brightness of each LED subblock.
