Abstract

The invention provides a conditional access device and a method for implementing an electronic program guide (EPG) therein, wherein the method comprises the following steps of: acquiring EPG data including a program list and playing parameter information by the conditional access device; acquiring an EPG application script from the conditional access device by a host, and executing the EPG application script and displaying an executing result by using a browser; and carrying out EPG information interaction between the conditional access device and the host through a communication interface (CI) port, wherein the EPG application script uses a script language which is adaptive with the browser of the host. The invention can broaden the business scope of the conditional access device and expand an implementing carrier of the EPG, is beneficial to the demand of an operator and customizes the personalized EPG with completely uniform style to carry out unified management.
